Sunset Safari in Lakeland with Jack Hanna

Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo patrons went on a “Sunset Safari” with Jack Hanna on Wednesday, March 6, 2013. As a preview to the Karamu XXV Gala Fundraiser (April 13, 2012), Lowry Park Zoo supporters in Polk County supported the zoo with a fundraiser that exceeded their goals. The evening was sponsored by Publix Super Markets Charities, a host of prominent Polk County residents and businesses. What a delightful evening!

Jack Hanna Shared His Passion

Jack Hanna shared his passion to save wildlife with the crowd by taking us on a virtual “Sunset Safari.” Jack’s adventurous spirit was catching as he shared his personal experiences and videos. His heartfelt stories about his family’s visit to the Mountain Gorilla Veterinary Project touched everyone. Jack also shared his personal enthusiasm for Partners In Conservation (PIC). PIC is a holistic effort benefiting both the people and the wildlife in Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
