Why has this book been attacked? Why has it been so controversial? In plain spoken words, Sandberg proposes why she thinks women are not in top level positions in business and government and she shares what women can do about it.

Sandberg examines why so few women are making it to the top of the business world. She states that only 15 – 16% of C-level jobs or Board Seats are filled by women while more than 50% of college students are women. Even more disturbing is the numbers are not moving in a positive direction.

Some of her observations and advice are:

• Don’t underestimate yourself and your talents.
• You get what you think you deserve.
• Sit at the table.
• Today career paths are a jungle gym not a ladder.
• Look for challenging work assignments.
• Step up and take advantage of opportunities.
• Make your partner your real partner
• Don’t leave before you leave.
